Taylor & Teddy at Build-A-Bear

We just got back from our first experience at Build-A-Bear. We were going to let Teddy and Taylor pick something out and go through the whole process. We showed them all the different animals and Taylor immediately became very attached to a lamb carcass. I think those things are kind of creepy without the stuffing, but she was hugging and kissing it like crazy.

Teddy, however, wasn't interested in any of the animals. He pushed them all away. So, we headed off to the stuffing machine with one lamb and two rambunctious babies. As you'll see in the video, Teddy fell in love with the little hearts that you stick inside the animals before you stuff them.

Updates Galore!

Taylor's vocabulary has been taking off like crazy! She now calls me "mommy", but sometimes it sounds more like "mee-mee". She also says shoes, night-night, it's mine, thank you, nice, and a bunch of other things I can't think of right now. Teddy talks a lot too, but you can't really understand what he's saying. I think it's because he is speaking primarily in Hungarian ;)

Get ready for picture overload! The first one is from our play group in early February. Here we are making some Tu Bishvat artwork. They are really good with crayons now, and they actually put the stickers on themselves.

For a tasty treat in February, Daddy put chocolate chips in our pancakes. We LOVED them and gobbled them right up.

Teddy sometimes gets very sleepy before lunch. Here he is taking a quick 15 minute nap on the couch in the playroom. You can see Taylor in the corner. She was petting him and saying, "nice, nice", just like how she pets Major Nelson (our cat).

We found this awesome Hannah Montana unitard for Taylor that she loves to dance in. The tutu was added for maximum dancing enjoyment. This little dance recital took place on March 1st. There's a video of her running around in it that I might post later.

A couple weeks ago we dressed up for our first Purim carnival. Mommy found a great deal on these super cute devil costumes from Pottery Barn Kids ($60 Halloween costumes on super clearance for $5!). Without the devil ears they kind of looked like little red dragons. Anyhow, here's a bunch of pictures from the carnival:

Temple Shalom's version of Plinko.

Taylor makes a slam dunk.

Teddy cruises the floor while Taylor noshes on a soft pretzel.

Last week the weather started warming up and we were taking a walk through the neighborhood. Some boys were riding on skateboards and the twins were mesmerized. We stopped to watch them for a bit. Taylor is wearing Teddy's hat because she took it off his head and put it on her own head.

After lots of looking in stores and googling, we finally found a desk for our kitchen! The babies are watching one of their favorite YouTube videos while admiring the new desk.

January

I know it's already February, but I haven't really posted any pictures from January. I've been posting videos, but no pictures. First, a little update on how we're doing.

Both Teddy and Taylor can walk now. Teddy is still slower, but he's getting faster every day. They both say hi, duck, what is this/that?, & uh oh. Taylor says mama, ball, sock, done, no, yes, sit, me, book, Teddy, and she tries to repeat words you say but they all come out sounding the same. Teddy says dad and daddy. Both of them say something that resembles "thank you," but for Teddy it sounds like "tee-oo" and for Taylor it sounds like "koo-num", which resembles the Hungarian word for thank you. They are both really good at giving hugs and kisses and they love to sit in your lap.

Taylor loves to read books. She can sit with a book, flip the pages, and talk while she's doing it. Teddy, on the other hand, loves to eat books. Their favorite activity is chasing each other around the living room. They can run in circles for hours, which is fine with me!

Last week we had our 18 month well visit with our new pediatrician. Teddy weighed in a 21lbs, 4oz (3%) and 30.5"(15%). Taylor weighed in at 24lbs, 7oz (50%) and 31.5"(50%). Here they are hanging out in the doctor's office waiting for him and reading their medical records.

Bubbe came to visit and we went out to lunch a few times. Here we are having fun at the California Pizza Kitchen...

...and here we are at our favorite restaurant, the Cheesecake Factory. We eat here a lot. Mommy loves it too!

After lunch at the Cheesecake Factory we went for a walk around the mall. Taylor wanted to visit her favorite store, but no one would let her in.

After being denied by Tiffany's, Taylor walked into Hermes and spit up some bananas onto the floor. That was really embarrassing for mom!

It's a New Year's MIRACLE!

Yesterday Teddy stood for the first time completely on his own. We thought maybe it was an isolated incident, but he was doing it non-stop this morning. He even took a few steps! We're just one day shy of our year and a half birthday, so this is very exciting. I wasn't able to get him to take any steps on camera, but check out his awesome standing skills. WAY TO GO, TEDDY!!

Chanukah Sameach!

December was full of lots of Chanukah fun. We went to a fabulous Chanukah party with our Shalom Baby group. I love this picture of Taylor at the party because I think she looks like such a little girl. What happened to my little baby?

Later that day we went to the mall for some Holiday shopping and we had dinner at the Cheesecake Factory. Here is Teddy stuffing his face with the crispy things off of mommy's Chinese chicken salad... literally.

On the first night of Chanukah (OK, the night before, but we just couldn't wait) Teddy and Taylor opened their gifts from Papa Lou. Taylor put on her tutu immediately and they both had turns with the Aquadoodle.

Here's Taylor with the tutu and her devil ears. Mommy was wearing the devil ears on Halloween and Taylor decided that they were going to be hers. She loves to put them on and walk around. She pretty much loves to wear anything that goes on her head, but she insists on doing it herself.

We thought Teddy might want a turn with the tutu. He didn't like it that much (perhaps that's a good thing), but he LOVED pushing around the pink shopping cart.

This is a really cute picture of Taylor feeding her new baby doll. In addition to the bassinet in the picture, she came with a stroller and a car seat. Taylor loves to take care of the dolls, but Teddy isn't really interested in them.

What follows is a bunch of photos from the last night of Chanukah. We wanted to get some shots of them opening presents in front of the menorah. Last year it was easy to just prop them up on the sofa with the menorah in front of them. Now that they can move (fast!) we can't really get them to sit still in one place. The easiest way to accomplish this was to sit them in high chairs next to the kitchen table. This is daddy's favorite menorah because it was his father's and it is from Israel.

Oh boy, presents!

Now... how do we open them?

I got it! Here, let me help you...

It's Leo from Little Einsteins, yay!

I was having more fun with the box.

Just for fun, I thought I'd post a couple Chaunkah pictures from last year. Here is how we looked a year ago.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
